Meet Your Guide:

Colandri Reyneke

At just 26, Colandri Reyneke has already made a name for herself as one of Namibia’s leading birding guides. With over 10 years of birding experience, she combines sharp field skills with a real passion for sharing her love of birds.

Colandri discovered birding at the age of 16 and hasn’t looked back since. In 2018, she completed the FGASA Specialist Birding Course, focusing on forest and savanna birds across Southern Africa. This has equipped her with strong technical knowledge and a deep understanding of regional birdlife.

What makes Colandri stand out? She has a rare talent for identifying birds by their calls—a skill that makes her incredibly effective out in the field. Whether it's the faint whistle of a waxbill or the distant rattle of a hornbill, she’ll hear it before most people spot it.

When she’s not guiding, you’ll likely find her atlassing birds for conservation research or working towards her bird ringing license—another step in her mission to support bird studies and help protect Namibia’s unique avifauna.

Birding isn’t just her job—it’s her favorite thing to do. And she can’t wait to share it with you.
